Interview with Elouise from Karen Charles' A Glimpse Too Far
* * *
Thank you for your interview, Elouise. How old are you and what do you do for a living? The story begins when I’m eight years old and continues into my young adulthood. I worked on my grandparents’
horse ranch, where I trained horses, provided therapy for children using the horses, and assisted with their rehabilitation. Later, I worked for a senator in Washington, D.C.
Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features? When someone touches me, I catch a glimpse of their past or future.
What would I love the most about you? You would love my passion and dedication to working with horses. I am also a horse whisperer.
What makes you laugh out loud? I laugh with joy, galloping through the meadow on my horse, Penny.
What is your most treasured possession? Penny, my horse.
Are you a loner or do you prefer to be surrounded by friends? I am a loner, except around my family, who know about my gift/curse.
What is in your refrigerator right now? I have refreshing iced tea.
What is your greatest fear? I fear touching someone and glimpsing something terrifying about their past or future.
Who is your best friend? My best friend is my boyfriend, Ethan.
What is your favorite weather? I love any weather that is great for horseback riding.
Do you like to cook? If so, what is your favorite thing to cook? I like to cook occasionally. My favorite dish to make is Chicken Alfredo.
If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today? If this were my last day, I would spend it horseback riding with my mom and dad, grandparents, and boyfriend
A terrifying gift. A government cover-up. And a past that won’t stay buried.
Elouise thought she had left the past behind. After a tragic accident, she woke with chilling ability to see glimpses of people’s pasts and futures. She’s spent years trying to live a normal life. But when a powerful senator pulls her into a high-stakes game of deception and control, she realizes her gift is no longer a secret—it’s a weapon. And he intends to use it.
She must make an impossible choice: play his deadly game or risk everything to expose the truth.
Danger closes in. Now, Elouise is running for her life, hunted by those who will do anything to silence her.
Who can she trust? The boyfriend who swore to protect her? Or the man who wants to own her gift—at any cost?
