Interview with Daphne of Judy Serrano's LINKED

We’re thrilled to be talking to Daphne from Judy Serrano’s Linked.  It is a pleasure to have Daphne with us today at Pimp That Character!

Thank you for your interview, Daphne.  How old are you and what do you do for a living?

I’m 22 and I am a long-term substitute teacher for a high school English class. However, that job is not as dull as it sounds, believe me.

Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?

I link with vampires. I possess a very old soul, and that soul used to belong to a vampire. My soul has been searching for its former body for hundreds of years.

What is in your refrigerator right now?

A few bags of blood-bank blood, and a six piece basket of hot wings.

What is your most treasured possession?

A bracelet that was given to me by someone I love. It keeps me safe and is something I need to keep as long as I am alive.

What is your greatest fear?

I am most afraid of being turned into a vampire. As much as I am drawn to them, it looks like a painful experience. With every vampire I know, wanting to link and turn human, I know that I don’t want to ever be in that form.

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?

Well… let’s see. I feel like I am stronger than I am conveyed. I put up with a lot from those vampire boys of mine, and I feel I should have gotten a little more credit for that. They certainly didn’t make it easy for me.

Who is your best friend?

My best friend is Dante Franco. He is my boyfriend’s brother. He is the kindest vampire I have ever met. Sometimes I wonder how things would have been different if I had met him first.

Someone is secretly in love with you.  Who is it and how do you feel about that?

Don’t tell Judy Serrano about this, but I think her husband is in love with me. I can see it in his eyes as he reads me over and over again. I know that she is secretly in love with Dante, so this could get interesting.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

The truth is that I never wanted to be a teacher, although that is what I was doing at the beginning of my journey in Linked. I always wanted to be a writer, and wow … do I have a story or two to tell.

If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

I would make sure that all the people in my life whom I loved, knew I loved them. Then, I would sit down and in front of a big plate of hot wings and eat as many as I could. Yes, that is what I would do.
