Character Interview: Amber Reynolds of 'Transgression'

We’re thrilled to be talking to Amber Reynolds from Jannette Fuller’s, Transgression.  It is a pleasure to have her with us today at Pimp That Character!

Thank you for your interview, Amber.  How old are you and what do you do for a living?

I’m seventeen and I have a part-time job on the weekends. I clean the suites at Ambrosial Inn, and every time there’s a special event, I’m in charge of the suites and the loft.

Where do you go when you are angry?

If I’m at home--my room. If I’m at school, I’ll hide out in the girls’ restroom. And if I’m at work, I’ll sneak off to the west side, but only if Phoebe (the steward of Ambrosial Acres) isn’t around. I have to walk around her house and into the backyard to get to the west side (Arcadia). It’s the most magical place in Ambrosial Acres, except for the secret island behind the lake….

What makes you laugh out loud?

Trent (he’s such a goof)! Everything about him is lovable, and he doesn't have to try to put a smile on your face. Trent makes life more fun, more bearable.

What is in your refrigerator right now?

A 2-liter of Dr. Pepper, leftovers from my mom’s lasagna, milk, eggs, butter….

What is your greatest fear?

What am I not afraid of? Let’s see, the secret island (Euphoria) is inhabited by evil giants, the crows flying over Ambrosial Acres have red eyes and tend to CAW and leer at me, and to top it all off, I have a stalker who isn’t exactly human. I know, right?

What is the trait you most not like about yourself?

Besides being wishy-washy with my faith, and dealing with identity issues (that no one knows about, except for Tirzah), I have a tendency to act out before thinking. Yep. I suffer the consequences because of that.

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?

Yeah, but I wish Jannette would’ve given me more backbone in Transgression. She told me since it’s book one, she had to make me more immature and vulnerable, so I could grow in the following books. I get it, I really do, but I think she could’ve put a little more oomph in my personality! You know, a little Katniss and Tris here and there. Oh, well...guess I have to wait to be developed more. I hate waiting.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

Sitting underneath the weeping willow (on the west side) with my friends, eating chocolate truffles and Italian subs.

Are you a loner or do you prefer to surround yourself with friends?

It depends. Most of the time, though, I prefer being around others.

Who is your best friend?

Tirzah Hopkins (she’s the chef at Ambrosial Inn). Her pastries are to die for, especially her chocolate truffles and pumpkin pies.

Someone is secretly in love with you.  Who is it and how do you feel about that?

To be honest, it’s no secret. Everyone knows I have a thing for Levi and Josh.

If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

My parents are so strict, they'd keep me inside the house until my last dying breath, praying over me until I saw the light. Did I mention my dad’s a pastor? Anyways, I’d pray for a miracle that I wouldn’t die, but just in case, I’d sneak out of the house and go to Cafe Jam with Tirzah, race another vehicle down the Parkway, get a tattoo, and then I’d reveal my feelings to Levi and Josh, hoping one of them feels the same way about me.

About the Author

Jannette Fuller loves spending time with the Lord and her family. She's a fangirl of everything lovely, and always tries to see the best in everyone, except for the villains in her YA series Ambrosial Acres.

When she’s not blogging or writing her latest article, she listens to sermons while sweating away unwanted calories, cleans the house until it sparkles, laughs at the silliest things, and enjoys the outdoors, especially her daily walks through the enchanted forest.

Of course there’s more to be said, but then her bio would end up being a memoir.
