Interview with Summer Jewel from D.F. Jones' SOUL LOVE

We’re thrilled to be talking to Summer Jewel from D.F. Jones' Soul Love.  It is a pleasure to have her with us today at Pimp That Character!

Thank you for your interview, Summer. How old are you and what do you do for a living?

I'm twenty-eight and own a little slice of heaven called Jewel's Bookstore Gems. It's a cozy bookstore filled with literary treasures, from the classics to the latest bestsellers. It's my happy place and a haven for fellow book lovers.

Can you tell us about one of your most distinguishable features?

Curiosity. It's both a blessing and a curse! My curiosity gets me into trouble more often than not, but it's also led me to some incredible adventures. If not for my inquisitive nature, I would have never met Rogan Randolph or stumbled upon that time portal in his attic, taking me back to my hometown in 1926. Can you imagine?

What would I love the most about you?

I'd say my loyalty and love for adventure. I'm a steadfast friend and a good listener, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. And let's not forget my passion for adventures. Books were my first love, whisking me away to different worlds, but nothing beats the real-life adventure of time travel and discovering secrets of the past!

What makes you laugh out loud?

That question! Ha! But really, my Aunt Em is the source of many belly laughs. She's a vibrant woman with many hilarious stories from her past. She has this knack for turning the most mundane moments into comedic gold.

What is your most treasured possession?

Jewel's Bookstore Gems, hands down. It's not just a business to me; it's a legacy. My parents started it, and I inherited it after they passed away. Every book on the shelf, every corner of the store, holds a memory and a piece of their love and dreams.

Are you a loner or do you prefer to be surrounded by friends?

I'm a bit of a loner, but I thrive in small, intimate groups of friends. Big crowds can be overwhelming, but give me a cozy gathering with a few close friends, and I'm in my element.

What is in your refrigerator right now?

Oh, you'd find a delightful mix! Aunt Em is a fabulous baker, so there's always something delicious. You might find lasagna (my favorite), cobblers from the store, fresh fruits and veggies, a gallon of sweet tea, and the pièce de résistance—Amish butter. Because, let's face it, butter makes everything better!

What is your greatest fear?

Losing the people I love. It's a fear that sometimes keeps me up at night, but it also makes me cherish every moment I have with them.

If you could change one physical thing about yourself, what would that be?

My fair skin! It sunburns so quickly, and it's such a hassle. I'd love skin that could bask in the sun without turning lobster red.

Who is your best friend?

Rogan Randolph. We’ve shared so many adventures, and I’ve discovered so much about him through his past and present. We’re kindred spirits in many ways, and to top it off, I’m head over heels in love with him. What’s better than being in love with your best friend? Especially when it comes with some fun perks. Wink, wink.

Do you have children?

Nope, not yet. But who knows what the future holds?

What is your favorite weather?

I adore a perfect 82-degree day with clear skies and warm breezes. It's the kind of weather that makes you want to be outside, soaking up the beauty of nature.

Do you like to cook?

Not really. Aunt Em is the culinary wizard in our family. But if I had to pick, I'd say the best thing I cook is chocolate oatmeal cookies. They're my go-to treat!

If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

I'd spend every moment with the people I love, ensuring they know how much they mean to me. Life spins on a dime, and tomorrow may never come. Nothing is more important than our time with our loved ones.
